Today in the workshop

Simon and I worked in the castle workshop today and I finally waxed my finished table while he defined his table legs and faired them ready for sanding and finishing. Simon's gluing his table up
in the morning and as a general practice we put on a couple of sealer coats before we actually glue up.
For those of you who've been in the Part II Foundational Course workshop you can get my process by asking. I love using straightforward shellac followed by a healthy coat of buffed-out wax . It's simple to apply, inexpensive and, contrary to what most modernists may tell you, easy and fast to apply and build up coats, which takes only minutes not hours and, even more, it's highly undervalued. When complete, this finish is silky smooth to the touch and you definitely do NOT need to be an expert to apply it.
I'll add pictures in the next day or two.
